The instruments:
The three main instruments in a Hungarian folk music band are: violin, viola and double bass.
Additional instrument played by Fészer musicians (as needed): accordion, cimbal, tárogató, gardony, second violin, second viola.

Hunor Kosbor

Hunor is the lead violin player in the band. He grew up in a folk music and folk dance environment. Hunor spends every summer in Transylvania or Hungary in folk music and folk dance camps, where he learns to play the violin and dance from excellent violin teachers and informants. He is learning to play the viola  too.
Apart from folk music, folk dance is also important forHunor. He dances in the Csűrdöngölő and Mákvirág ensembles and also teaches Hungarian folk dance for children.

Bence Kalán

Violin

​Bence is the main viola player in the band. He plays two traditional Hungarian folk violas: 3 and 4 string violas. Bence also plays the violin.
Bence was born in New York and moved to New Jersey shortly after the formation of the band. Bence is a first generation American-Hungarian. He started learning to play the violin and viola at early ages with his father (György Kalán), who is also a viola player. He has been a strong part of the Hungarian community in New York City and New Jersey.

Brano Brinarsky
​Double Bass

The main bass player of the band is Brano. He has vast musical knowledge and several decades of experience as a bass player. He performed at a multitude of venues with various music bands (folk, jazz, classical). Brano is of Slovak origin and is the leader of a Slovak band named Pajtasi. He has been playing Hungarian folk music for more than a decade. 
Brano is also the sound technician of the band.

Miklós Kertész
​ Accordion, Viola

Miklós was born and raised in New Jersey and was exposed to Hungarian folk music and dancing at a young age but it wasn’t until he was 14 years old that he took an active interest in it. After finishing his university studies, he moved to Budapest for several years and continued dancing and playing music. He plays the accordion and has been learning from the master Hungarian folk accordionist Zoltán Bobár. Miklós currently resides in New Jersey and is an active member of the Hungrian folk scene in New York and New Jersey. Whenever he is not playing music at a dance house, he is dancing.
